AMBIENCE & SERVICE

A beautiful day in a restaurant on a pier surrounded by blue water and boats – venue and staff highly rated by almost everyone who attended. 

General rating for restaurant ‘++ Excellent

Best Comment: ”What a wonderful meal in a superb setting. A delightful wholesome authentic experience. Felt like I was eating with a family in Italy.”

On arrival – Prosecco was served. In general rated as a fine example of Prosecco. – well balanced.

PANE

Organic sourdough with extra virgin Australian olive oil

Most rated the bread and olive oil as ‘Excellent’. Described as ‘fabulous’ and ‘wish I could make bread like this at home

BURRATA

Vannella burrata with Sardinian tomatoes, basil, oregano & sourdough crostini.

Wasn’t served with crostini, but overall mostly rated from under cooked burrata and mostly ‘excellent‘ & ‘scrumptious‘.

CALAMARI FRITTI

Fried southern calamari served with lemon mayonnaise.

Rated mostly ‘crispy‘ & ‘good’

VETELLO TONNATO

Slow cooked veal with tuna mayonnaise, fried capers & parsley oil

One rating was ‘ unusual combination, but absolutely works‘ Generally rated ‘excellent‘ to ‘++ excellent

BUSIATE ALLA PUTTANESCA DI TONNO

Traditional Neapolitan busiate pasta with Yellowfin tuna, cherry tomatoes, capers & olives

Rating mostly excellentOne comment, ‘Very tasty and perfect pasta – very authentic

ANATRA ARROSTO

Roast Maryland duck leg with gremolada. Dressing & jus served with roasted potatoes.

The least ‘rated’ dish. However, still most ratings ‘excellent‘ but some just ‘good.’ Duck rated between excellently cooked to lacking in taste, potatoes needed more salt.

DESSERT

TIRAMISU

Very few comments to this dish. Probably most guests too satiated. One rating was ‘Squisito – just like mama would make – yum.’

WINES – selected and provided by restaurant

White: - 2022 Vermentino di Tosana DOC ‘lucumone’ Mantellassi

Rated for the most part as ‘balanced’ and ‘elegant’

Went well with the food

Red: 2020 Cannon di Sardegna DOC ‘Azenas’ Cantine Di Dolianova

Rated for the most part as ‘balanced’ and generally flavourful and perfect match for the duck.
